Reviewing a Submission
Once a submission arrives and data extraction completes, your job is to evaluate whether the risk fits your program and whether you have enough information to quote.
Opening a submission
Section titled “Opening a submission”From the Submissions page, click any submission row to open the Submission Detail view. The page is organized into sections that give you a complete picture of the risk.
Submission details
Section titled “Submission details”The platform parses uploaded documents (applications, loss runs, driver lists) and presents the data in a structured format. Review this carefully — extraction is fast but not infallible.
Key fields to verify:
- Insured name, address, entity type
- Line of business and requested coverages
- Effective and expiration dates
- Vehicle/equipment schedules (for commercial auto)
- Prior carrier and loss history
Fraud signals
Section titled “Fraud signals”The Fraud Signals card shows AI-generated risk flags. These are informational — they don’t block quoting, but they should be reviewed.
Common signals:
- Address inconsistencies
- Prior loss patterns
- Driver record anomalies
- Entity structure concerns
The number of flags appears as a badge on the submission card in the list view.
Missing items
Section titled “Missing items”The Missing Items section lists documents or information the system needs before a complete quote can be generated. Common items:
- Loss runs (typically 3–5 years required)
- Driver MVRs
- Vehicle schedules
- Prior policy declarations page
- Financial statements (for larger risks)
Requesting information
Section titled “Requesting information”Request Documents
Section titled “Request Documents”Click Request Documents to send a structured request to the producer. You can:
- Select from a checklist of standard document types
- Add custom document descriptions
- Include a message
The producer receives a notification in their portal and via email.
Request Info
Section titled “Request Info”Use Request Info for general questions that don’t fit a document request — clarifications on operations, coverage intent, or risk details.
Activity timeline
Section titled “Activity timeline”The Activity Timeline on the submission detail page shows every action taken on the submission in chronological order:
- Status changes
- Document uploads
- Quote attempts
- Notes added
- Requests sent and responses received
Use the Notes panel to record internal observations. Notes are visible to other underwriters but not to the producer or insured. Use them for:
- Risk assessment commentary
- Conversations with supervisors about referrals
- Reminders for follow-up items
When to proceed to quoting
Section titled “When to proceed to quoting”A submission is ready to quote when:
- Extraction is complete and verified
- All required documents are received
- Fraud signals have been reviewed (and documented if concerning)
- The risk fits within your program’s appetite
The system will show Rated status when the rating engine has successfully calculated a premium — at that point, click Quote to proceed.
